This production of The Marriage of Figaro was set in the 1780s, at the time of the opera's publication. We leaned into the advances in dye technology and the embrace of color of the time. Keeping a clear summery color scheme, a story is told in the relationships between characters, and how the Count is caught between Susanna and the Countess. Age and status are made more profound by pushing older and poorer characters into older fashions of the era.
