Angels in America by Tony Kushner
This well known story, set in the 80s AIDS epidemic, explores what it means to be human while living with disease. Grappling with their identities, relationships, and capacities for compassion, each character responds differently. Using the rapid expansion of color and materials in the 80s, a representation of those differences is reached. Artistically this was an exploration of a messier style reflecting the turmoil of the play.
